Learn CPR, download the app

Equipping our community to respond to sudden cardiac arrest is central to our purpose. That’s why we lead the way in hands-only CPR training and in equipping bystander response to sudden cardiac arrest through the PulsePoint Respond app.

There’s nothing more important than early intervention when cardiac arrest occurs. Often, the closest person to provide help may be in the next room in a restaurant, in the store across the street or walking down the sidewalk.

The PulsePoint Respond app notifies CPR-trained citizens of cardiac events in nearby public locations so they may administer aid. The app also notifies users of the closest available publicly accessible AED. Bystander CPR and rapid defibrillation from an AED have proven to be crucial in improving a person’s chance of surviving sudden cardiac arrest.

PulsePoint Respond is not limited to emergency medical responders or those with CPR certification. It can be downloaded and used by anyone who has been trained in CPR.

To download the free PulsePoint Respond app, visit the iTunes Store or Google Play. Once the app is installed on a mobile phone, users become the first line of response in a cardiac emergency that occurs in a public place within .25 mile of the victim.

Gold Cross Ambulance is proud to partner with the HeartStart Foundation, the ThedaCare Family of Foundations and Fox Valley Emergency Medicine in sponsoring PulsePoint Respond.

A bystander has provided hands-only CPR in about 30 percent of the cardiac arrests treated by Gold Cross Ambulance.
