We’re excited to announce that Gold Cross Ambulance Service Inc. is launching the region’s first EMT cadet program. Not only will you get hands-on experience developing the skills you need for a career in emergency medicine, but we’ll actually pay you to get your EMT certification and State of Wisconsin EMS License!

This new course is being administered by the Lake Country Fire and Rescue, a state of Wisconsin certified training center and is instructed by Gold Cross Ambulance Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians. Cadets will have the unique opportunity to be trained on a state-of-the-art human patient simulator and other new technologies that are becoming common in the field.

EMT Cadets have the ability to work part-time at another job, or they can opt to assist with our hospital discharge wheelchair van and earn additional income this way. Best of all, we are ready to hire cadets into full-time roles once they complete the course and earn their license!

Course Information

The course begins on January 18th, 2023 and runs through May 20. EMT Cadets will meet every Tuesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m at 1055 Wittman Drive in Menasha. The course is completely free, but there are a few qualifications we’re looking for in candidates:

  • High school diploma
  • At least 18 years old
  • A clean criminal and driving record
  • Be will to pass a physical and a drug screening

Employees will earn compensation at their hourly rate for the time spent in the classroom and while completing ride-along shifts. You can take a closer look at the Emergency Medical Technician Course Curriculum for this year’s session by clicking here, and you can get a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of EMTs with the Gold Cross team by reviewing the job description should you wish to apply following the completion of the course.
