Residents of the greater Fox Valley region are invited to participate in an unusual but critical scavenger hunt from June 1-16. The hunt is on for publicly-accessible AEDs, or automated external defibrillators. When used on a person who is having a sudden cardiac arrest, an AED may shock the heart back into rhythm, and a life may be saved. Sheriff’s Deputy to be honored for applying tourniquet, controlling bleeding, saving a life. Quick response averted tragedy, followed training to Stop the Bleed WHAT: Deputy William Pearson of the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department will be honored by Gold Cross Ambulance for his life-saving response to a situation that could easily have ended tragically.
