The Gold Cross Ambulance EMS Bike Team was established in September of 2010 to provide specialized EMS coverage to the citizens of the Fox River Valley. This unique form of EMS coverage will allow us the opportunity to deploy our EMS Bike Team members into challenging environments and geographic locations.

Each bike team consists of two paramedics who will utilize mountain bicycles with a full complement of medical supplies and equipment. Gold Cross Ambulance is currently able to staff two fully capable EMS Bike Teams. UHF radios will be the primary form of communication with cellular phones as a secondary mode of communication.
These two EMS Bike Teams will be available for community events and specialized coverage 24/7, utilizing our present full-time and part-time paramedic staff. Our bike teams will work closely with our current paramedic ambulances to provide a seamless level of pre-hospital care. Medical direction for our bike teams will be received from our valley hospitals.
Gold Cross Ambulance services portions of three counties: Outagamie, Calumet and Winnebago, which equates to approximately 950 square miles within the Fox River Valley. Our EMS Bike Team will provide medical coverage within the Gold Cross Ambulance response area.
