About Us: About Gold Cross Ambulance

Joint Venture – Celebrating 25 Years

About Gold CrossThe original Gold Cross Ambulance (GCA) was a privately owned company that was organized in 1967. The organization had several milestones including its original 12 employees passing the National Registry examination of EMTs in 1972, and the first paramedics trained in Wisconsin without the aid of federal dollars in 1974.

Today, in 2016, Gold Cross Ambulance Service, Inc. is celebrating 25 years of hospital ownership. In 1991, GCA was one of the first joint ventures for Appleton Medical Center (today, ThedaCare Medical Center-Appleton), Theda Clark Regional Medical Center (today, ThedaCare Medical Center-Neenah), and St. Elizabeth Hospital and Mercy Medical Center, which are owned by Affinity Health System.

With 600 patient encounters annually and 1,000 hours of training for each of our paramedics, plus advanced technologies that help us deliver optimal care and safety on each and every call, Gold Cross paramedics are the best at what they do.
